Not only did the Rangers improve their bullpen with the signing of prolific closer Joe Nathan, they also improved their starting line up. With this addition, Neftali Feliz can now become the fifth starter for the Rangers. After collapsing in the World Series, the change might be good for Feliz, as pitchers who blow games in the World Series, never really fully recover.
The deal is worth about $14.5 million over two years, with a buyout and team option in 2014.
Nathan has 261 career saves in 293 opportunities. He also has a career ERA of 2.87 and 761 career strikeouts over 729.2 innings pitched.
