Ryan Braun beat out Matt Kemp to win the NL MVP award. There is no chance he had a better year than Kemp, but his teams' success definitely played a role in him achieving the award. With Kemp beating Braun in almost every statistical category, the fact that the Brewers won the division must have had a factor in Braun's edge over Kemp.
