Adrian Wojnarowski is confidently reporting that the Lakers have acquired Chris Paul. The deal is still pending, but league sources are saying that it is as good as done. Here is the deal:
Lakers receive: Chris Paul
Hornets receive: Lamar Odom, Kevin Martin, Luis Scola, and Goran Dragic (picks pending)
Rockets receive: Pau Gasol
There are still details to be ironed out, and I think this deal is far from done. Does it really make sense that the Rockets are giving so much up for Gasol? What will LA do without a power forward? How can this deal be made when the Lakers are giving up $28 million in salary and only getting $16 million in return? Is someone else involved? Will CP3 sign an extension? There are obviously still pieces to the deal that have not been reported. Stay tuned.
